30 FRONT ENGINEERING
In this project, we were tasked with engineering a custom batten cladding system designed for fast, dry installation. While the system mimics the appearance of natural timber, it is entirely fabricated from aluminum and steel. The hollow metal profiles were finished with a wood-grain paint treatment to achieve the desired aesthetic.
A core challenge was ensuring that all mechanical fixings remained fully concealed, even across movable elements such as garage doors, in order to maintain uninterrupted visual continuity. The system also had to accommodate an offset in the ceiling levels, which was resolved through a precisely engineered substructure.
Special coordination was required to integrate and overlap the batten system with other services and systems running above the suspended ceiling. This demanded detailed planning and careful execution to ensure proper clearances, alignment, and long-term stability.
