INTERIOR – SYSTEM Design & Consulting – Management – INSTALL

This project involved the engineering of a suspended ceiling for the clubhouse of a recording studio located in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. The design intent required an exposed, industrial-style finish using open-patinated burnished steel panels.
Together with the installer, it was decided to suspend the ceiling using a system of individual point hooks fixed to the structural concrete slab via mechanical anchors, threaded rods, and crickets with steel hooks. This method provided the flexibility to fine-tune the level of each individual panel with high precision and efficiency.
For panel-to-panel connections, pre-punched L-profiles were mechanically fixed to the back of each panel. These L-brackets were then secured to stud-welded pins on the rear face of the steel panels. This solution not only ensured fast and accurate installation but also allowed for a highly controlled and repeatable alignment process across the entire ceiling.
